Former Secretary of the Hyderabad Cricket Association T. Shesh Narayan, in a letter addressed to Justice P. Naveen Rao and the incumbent Secretary M. Jeevan Reddy, urged them to take corrective measures to ensure that the HCA does not end up in wasteful expenditure and misuse of complimentary tickets for the forthcoming IPL.

“We would like to bring to your kind notice that the HCA gets around 4,000 tickets for each match from the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. The club secretaries who are entitled to 15 tickets as per the General Body decision are being given only 12 tickets, including three in the Club House. The rest are being thoroughly misused by the Apex Council members,” Shesh Narayan said.

“It may be mentioned here that during the tenure of Justice L. Nageswara Rao (Supreme

Court-appointed single member committee to take care of HCA administrative affairs), he sought the services of Mr Durga Prasad, retired IPS officer, as Administrator and ensured that the corporate boxes F7 to F16 were put up for sale and a revenue close to Rs 1 crore was generated for the HCA,” the former HCA secretary said.

“So, we demand that the tickets of the above said corporate boxes are not distributed among the Apex Council members,” he said.

“Even the catering services are awarded to five-star hotels which charge Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 per pack. This cost has to be borne by the HCA, which is illegal,” Shesh Narayan said.

“So, we appeal to Justice Naveen Rao and Mr Jeevan Reddy to ensure that these fraudulent practices are put to an end,” he said.
