K. Chandrashekhar Rao, former Chief Minister and president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi has expressed grief over the demise of Padma Bhushan awardee Ram Vanji Sutar, renowned sculptor who designed the iconic 125-foot statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad. Ram V. Sutar, widely regarded as one of India’s greatest monumental sculptors, passed away due to age-related ailments.

In his



condolence message, K Chandrashekhar Rao recalled Sutar’s extraordinary contributions to the field of sculpture, describing him as a “Kohinoor diamond” whose world-class talent brought life to statues of prominent figures. 

He particularly praised Sutar’s design of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s 125-foot statue, constructed during the previous BRS government with global standards.
