For Rs. 1.5 lakh crore loot, Revanth Reddy is drowning people of Hyderabad in floods, says KTR

Holding the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s negligence squarely responsible for the floods in Musi river, BRS working president KT Rama Rao said on Saturday that he had deliberately pushed the people of Hyderabad into such a crisis in order to loot Rs. 1.5 lakh crore through the so-called Musi Beautification Project.

Speaking after welcoming a host of leaders from the BJP and Congress from Kodangal into the BRS, Rama Rao said thousands of families lost their homes and property because of Revanth Reddy’s cruel negligence. The Nizam government had built Osman Sagar and Gandipet reservoirs a century ago to prevent Musi floods. Whenever the weather department issues flood alerts, water from these reservoirs should be released to hold back Musi waters. But Revanth Reddy deliberately avoided releasing water in order to justify and force through his Musi beautification project for kickbacks. As a result, Hyderabad was witnessing unprecedented flooding, with the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station submerged for the first time in history.

Referring to the state of affairs in Kodangal, Rama Rao said the people were seething with anger at the atrocities of the Anumula brothers, and were determined to defeat Revanth Reddy at any cost.

“Revanth Reddy may be the CM of the State, but in Kodangal, it is his brother Tirupati Reddy who acts like the Chief Minister. Even without holding any elected post, officers are bowing before him. This is a disgrace,” he said, stating that Revanth Reddy and his brother roam around with scissors in their pockets, cutting ribbons for projects constructed by the KCR government.

Revanth Reddy, who became MLA with the blessings of Kodangal people, had insulted the constituency in the Assembly by speaking disparagingly



about its lands. “Is Kodangal Revanth’s personal jagir? How can he grab farmers’ lands for his son-in-law’s factory, destroying their livelihoods?” he asked, lashing out at the Congress government for failing to fulfill a single guarantee promised before the elections.

“Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka gave signatures on guarantee cards. Not one has been implemented. That is why we have prepared the Congress Dues Card to show people exactly how much Congress owes them,” he said.

He appealed to the people to question Congress leaders during campaigns, show them the dues card, and demand they clear their dues before asking for votes. Highlighting irrigation projects, Rama Rao said Revanth Reddy was sidelining the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, which was already completed by 90 per cent by the KCR government. This was a simple ploy to deny KCR the credit he deserved.

Instead, he launched the Rs.4,500 crore Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project purely for commissions, handing contracts to Mega Krishna Reddy and Bambuletti Srinivas Reddy.

“If the Almatti height is raised, Jurala won’t get a drop of water. This entire exercise is a scam. Even the court saw through the fraud and issued a stay,” Rama Rao noted, adding that there was no need to wait three years to teach the Congress and Revanth a lesson.

“In the upcoming local body elections, give BRS a bumper majority. If Kodangal switches off, Delhi will go dark. If Kodangal ties down Revanth, Delhi will tremble,” he said, appealing to the people of Kodangal to elect Narendra Reddy in the coming elections and declaring that the journey to make K Chandrashekhar Rao once again the Chief Minister must begin from Kodangal.
