As part of continuous food safety monitoring across Cyberabad, the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) a food safety team conducted an inspection at Subway in Kondapur here and observed non compliance of certain safety norms.

The team found that incoming raw vegetables were not being properly checked at the time of procurement and rotten lettuce found stored in the chiller.

Cut vegetables including onions, tomatoes, and lettuce were found unlabelled, with some exceeding the declared use-by date and food waste observed on the floor in the food preparation

area.

The presence of flies were noticed in the food preparation section and sink and washing areas found inadequately maintained. The medical fitness certificates of food handlers, food testing reports, and water analysis reports were not available during inspection.

The food handlers were found to have inadequate awareness of safe food handling practices. The officials discarded the rotten and unlabelled vegetables on the spot and added that improvement notice would be issued for observed violations and necessary corrective measures would be taken accordingly.
