Flood alert issued for Musi catchment areas in Nalgonda, Suryapet

With heavy flood waters flowing into the River Musi from upstream areas, officials on Thursday issued an emergency alert for the catchment areas in the erstwhile district.

In view of the possibility of the reservoir gates being opened, officials advised residents in the Musi catchment areas of



Suryapet and Nalgonda districts to remain alert. They also warned people against visiting areas surrounding the river under any circumstances.

Officials urged the public to take necessary safety precautions and follow the guidelines and warnings issued by the Revenue and Irrigation departments.
