Fish prasadam will commence today

All the required arrangements for fish prasadam distribution by Bathini family on June 8 and 9 were being put in place at the Exhibition Grounds, the civic administration and police said. The distribution of fish prasadam is to commence at 6 pm on Saturday and continue for 24 hours at the venue.

Though the distribution is scheduled for Saturday evening, many from distant places started to arrive at the venue on Friday morning itself. Several families from other States too reached the Exhibition Grounds where the administration has been busy setting up barricades. Braving the peak summer heat, women with children in arms were also seen occupying the starting slots in the queue and be able to receive the prasadam early.

For the fish prasadam distribution, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited will



be operating extra trains as per requirement in peak and off peak hours on June 8 and 9.

Additional ticket counters will be operated at Gandhi Bhavan and other stations, including Secunderabad, LB Nagar, Miyapur, MGBS, Uppal to cater to the requirements of passengers coming to the city for the event, said HMRL Managing Director, NVS Reddy.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) will be supplying free drinking water at Nampally Exhibition Grounds for the convenience of those coming for fish prasadam.

Nearly 3.5 lakh drinking water sachets are to be distributed free of cost through seven camps operated by 75 persons round the clock, the water board said in a press release.
