Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the country’s first indigenous semiconductor chip would be rolled out this year.
Speaking at the 85th foundation day celebrations of Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Hyderabad yesterday, the Minister said India is going to become one of the most important semiconductor nations in the world. He said, the government has already approved six semiconductor plants and their construction is going on. He added that the country will have the first Made in India chip this year.
Mr Vaishnaw said as part of the India AI Mission, free datasets and others are being uploaded. He said, as many as one million
people are being trained in the use of Artificial intelligence (AI). He said, India will be among the top two economies in the world by 2047.
The Union Minister urged students to make the best use of technology in light of the rapidly changing global economy and technological landscape. He said that the day is not far when students from developed countries will come to India for educational opportunities.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy was also present on the occasion. Speaking at the event, Mr Reddy said, India will soon welcome students from abroad, as country’s educational standards are rapidly improving.
