A major fire broke out at Agarwal Rubber Industry in Industrial Area, Patancheru in Sangareddy district during the early hours of Tuesday.

Seven fire tenders were rushed from nearby places to the place to bring the fire under control. The fire fighters took more than four hours to control the fire from spreading to other industries located close-by. Though the intensity has come down, the fire fighters were still working at the site.

A square kilometer area around the industry was enveloped in thick smoke due to the high intensity fire accident. The incident triggered panic in the

locality as the people feared that it would spread into other industries and residential areas. Fire fighters have put a brave fight though the industry was lacking the space to move the fire tenders.

According to primary information, a blast of a drum, containing inflammable chemicals, has caused the fire accident. Though it has caused a huge property loss, it is yet to be estimated.

Meanwhile, Home Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy has visited and enquired about the incident. He has sought a detail report on the incident.
