The Filmnagar police arrested a car driver on Tuesday for allegedly killing two women in separate incidents and robbing them of their gold jewellery.
The suspect, 29-year-old Kunasani Vasu, a resident of Jubilee Hills and a native of Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district, reportedly targeted older women.
According to the police, Vasu would befriend women under the pretext of offering help, only
to lure them to secluded areas on the city outskirts.
“On different occasions, Vasu took Boinpally Yadamma (70) and Mangamma (56) to remote locations on his scooter and killed them,” a police official said.
While investigating the disappearance of Yadamma, authorities discovered that Vasu had also murdered Mangamma. Investigators believe he stole their jewellery to fund a lavish lifestyle.
