The arrested are Mohammed Taj (29), Mohd Taufeeq (47) and Mohd Al Hasan, who formed a gang and posed as vigilance officials of the Civil Supplies Department and extorted

money.

The gang threatened a LPG delivery boy and asked him to pay Rs 60,000, or they would file a case against him.

“The trio then took the phone of the delivery boy, Shivakumar, and transferred Rs 50,000 to their bank account.

On a complaint, a case was registered and the trio arrested,” said Inspector Filmnagar, A Ramesh.
