The disappearance of the body of a six-month-old infant at a Panjagutta crematorium in Hyderabad has raised concerns among the family members.
According to reports, a woman gave birth to premature twins at around six months of pregnancy. One of the infants died on the Saturday after birth. The family reportedly paid Rs.2,500 to the crematorium staff for the last rites. On Sunday night, the second infant also died.
The family members
then went to the Panjagutta crematorium on Monday and requested the staff to perform the last rites beside the spot where the first infant had been buried.
However, the family was shocked to learn that they could not locate the body of the first infant. The grieving parents reportedly enquired with the crematorium staff about the whereabouts of the infant’s body. The Banjara Hills police have received a complaint and are investigating the matter.
