The family of a 29-year-old software engineer, Gadey Yugender, a resident of Mandalgudem village in Jangaon, who was declared brain dead by doctors, donated his organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

On October 5, Yugender, an employee at a private firm in Hyderabad, was travelling on a two-wheeler along with his cousin, when they met with a tragic accident at



Uppal.

Yugender was shifted to a nearby private hospital where he was under ICU care. With no improvement in his health, the doctors declared him brain dead on October 8.

Family members, including his father Gade Muralidhar, gave consent to donate his organs, Jeevandan on Thursday said. The surgeons retrieved a liver, kidneys and corneas, in all five organs, which were allocated to needy patients based on the organ donation guidelines.
