A special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar has sentenced Alugunuri Roshaiah, who was Tahsildar of Kasipet mandal in Mancherial district, two years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) in a bribe case. 

The court has also asked him to pay a fine of Rs.5,000 and in default of payment of the fine, he shall undergo simple imprisonment for three months. 

The court pronounced judgment convicting Roshaiah



for the offences punishable under Sections 7 and 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988. 

On January 9, 2013, Roshalah demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant for showing official favour for completing the process related to mutation of agricultural land in revenue records (Jamabandi) in the complainant's name and issuance of a Pattadar Passbook.
