Telangana finance minister Etela Rajender on Friday requested the Centre to waive the charges on digital transactions so that more number of merchants accept it. He said that the state government was taking measures to encourage cashless transactions.

Speaking at a special campaign for on-board merchants to accept digital payments upon culmination



of 100 days of Digi-dhan mela organized by the State Level Bankers' Committee on Friday , Rajender said people, who always use cash when it is available in plenty , have now been slowly moving towards cashless transactions. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take more measures for encouraging cashless transactions as it helps in controlling tax evasion.
