Engineering student dies by suicide in Medipally

A 19-year-old engineering student, who allegedly was forced to consume liquor by his seniors, died by suicide at a private hostel in Medipally on Sunday night.

The victim , identified as Jadhav Sai Teja, a second-year BTech student at Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Narapally, was found hanging in his room at Madhu Boys Hostel. He was a native of



Utnoor in Adilabad district.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Teja was allegedly harassed by senior students who forced him to consume alcohol and accompanied him to a bar. The group reportedly generated a bill of Rs 10,000 and insisted that Teja pay for it.

Police said he was also assaulted by the seniors and some local youths.
