Amid heavy police protection, several encroachments were demolished on government land at Airport Colony in Shamshabad.
The revenue authorities carried out the demolition drive under police cover as part of an operation targeting unauthorised structures on government land on Friday. Two earthmovers were deployed to demolish all temporary encroachments, a revenue official said.
According to revenue officials, a complaint was received
from locals that encroachers were building temporary structures on the government land and trying to grab the entire five-acre land located in Survey No. 626/1 at Airport Colony.
RGIA inspector B Sanjeevulu told Media that the encroachers had built sheds on the government land. The Shamshabad mandal revenue officials verified their records and confirmed the encroachment on government land. “We provided adequate police bandobast at the demolition site.
