A major technical glitch in multiple IndiGo aircrafts and other airlines triggered a chaos at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, from Tuesday night, leading to the cancellation of atleast 11 flights, including four departing from Hyderabad and seven arriving from various States.
The unexpected disruption created severe confusion
and frustration at the airport. Nearly 1,000 passengers had been waiting at the terminal with no clarity on flight rescheduling. They were only provided with accomodation by the airlines late night.
Passengers travelling to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, as well as those taking connecting international flights, were the worst affected.
