City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said a few persons, suspected to be contacts to COVID-19 positive cases, were yet to be traced and that efforts were on to find them.

“During our task to identify those prone to the disease, we have come across a few names of persons who had direct or indirect contact with the patients of COVID-19. However, their contact details are very unclear and we request such persons to come forward and get themselves screened at the health centres for their own good,” he said.

The Commissioner said joint teams comprising officials of the health department, revenue and police were working to identify the contacts of persons who have

tested positive for COVID-19.

Anjani Kumar said the police were also working round the clock to ensure safety of the citizens.

“This is a new task for us and our personnel understanding their responsibility are working hard to ensure that the pandemic does not spread or go out of control,” he said, adding that there were certain guidelines issued for the burial of COVID-19 patients who passed away, and that all the people would have to adhere to these.

“It is also advisable that only a few persons attend the burial and follow the guidelines to ensure their safety,” he said.
