The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday.
Mohammed Ali Shabbir, an advisor to the State government, was the chief guest at the Independence Day celebrations in Adilabad. He hoisted the Tricolour to mark the occasion, accompanied by Collector Rajarshi Shah and Superintendent of Police Gaush Alam. Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh, MLA Payal Shankar and several other officials
were present.
Ali read out details of the beneficiaries who availed schemes such as Maha Laxmi, crop loan waivers and other initiatives introduced by the government. He said efforts were being made to ensure all eligible citizens receive the benefits of the six guarantees.
He cited that 2.39 crore women utilised the free bus travel facility from December 9, 2023 to August 14 under the Maha Laxmi scheme, saving Rs. 82.88 crore.
