The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday extended the time for enumeration as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the State till August 10. Earlier, the deadline for enumeration was August 3.
As per the revised SIR schedule released by the Telangana Chief Electoral Office, rationalisation and reorganisation of polling stations have to be carried out by August 10. The draft electoral rolls will be published on August 17, with the period for filing claims and objections scheduled from August 17 to September
16.
The disposal of claims and objections will be carried out between August 17 and October 15. The final electoral rolls will be published on October 19.
The SIR exercise in Telangana was taken up on June 25 with an initial deadline of July 24, which was revised to August 3. However, the deadline has now been extended till August 10.
Meanwhile, the digitisation of enumeration forms reached 77.12 per cent in the State. Hyderabad recorded 56.31 per cent digitisation of forms, which is the lowest among all districts.
