Driver allegedly assaulted by gau rakshaks near Ibrahimpatnam

Tension prevailed for a while at Ibrahimpatnam police station on Monday after a transport vehicle driver was waylaid and attacked by a group of gau rakshaks.

The driver, Jaweed, a resident of Old City, was transporting a truck belonging to a farmer, Hari, to a location in his vehicle. On reaching Ibrahimpatnam road, a group of gau rakshak stopped the vehicle, pulled out the driver and assaulted him. He was



later handed over to the Ibrahimpatnam police.

Samad Bin Abdat, AIMIM party leader, on coming to know about the incident, reached Ibrahimpatnam police station in the morning and questioned the police for not sending the driver to hospital for treatment.

He complained that the driver, despite suffering bleeding injuries, was detained in the police station and denied medical treatment.
