Around 60 passengers of a private travel bus were left stranded on the road near Ibrahimpatnam on the outskirts of the city here, Andhra Pradesh, on Monday morning, after the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle midway, citing that they had run out of diesel.
According to passengers, the bus operated by Varma left Hyderabad towards Vijayawada around 12: 30 AM after a two-hour delay on Sunday
night.
After the bus reached Ibrahimpatnam at around 5: 30 am, the driver stopped the vehicle and informed passengers that the bus had run out of diesel and reportedly left the spot, asking them to make their own arrangements.
Several passengers, including women and senior citizens, were stranded on the roadside. When they questioned him as to why the fuel was not checked, he cited fuel shortage as the reason and left the bus.
