Dr. Mohammed Abdul Khadeer Khan, from Hyderabad is working at a private hospital. He had arrived at the airport to board an aircraft bound for Chennai.

During baggage screening, security personnel detected about 50 rounds of ammunition, including 25 live rounds and 25 used cartridges of 0.22 mm calibre, concealed in his luggage. He was immediately stopped and questioned by security officials.

Security officials have reportedly seized  live ammunition from the baggage of a doctor during



routine checks at the RGIA in Shamshabad on Thursday.

The doctor reportedly produced valid documents related to the ammunition and explained that he had inadvertently carried the rounds due to oversight.

 He assured the authorities that there was no malicious intent behind the lapse and submitted a written apology.

After verification of the documents and preliminary inquiry, airport officials issued a warning and allowed him to proceed with his scheduled travel plan.
