DMHO dies suddenly after complaining of chest pain in Jagtial

District Medical and Health Officer Dr Akula Srinivas died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Saturday.

According to family members, Dr Srinivas complained of chest pain around 4.30 am. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Srinivas had recently taken charge as DMHO following the transfer of his predecessor on deputation. Earlier, he had served as a programme officer in the health department.

A native of Jagtial town, Dr Srinivas was well known among local residents and had close links with various sections of society.
