DGP reviews security for Lionel Messi match at Uppal stadium

Ahead of the football match featuring Lionel Messi on December 13, DGP B Shivadhar Reddy on Thursday reviewed security and logistical arrangements at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal.

Officials from GHMC, Electricity, Water Works, the Sports Authority of Telangana and the event organisers briefed him on the ongoing preparations.

The DGP directed all departments to ensure



smooth movement of spectators, strong security coordination, and wide publicity of traffic diversions and safety guidelines.

Authorities pointed out that the 23-acre stadium, divided into four sectors with a seating capacity of about 39,000, is well-suited for hosting a large event of this scale.

Senior officials from law and order, intelligence, traffic, fire services and other wings were present.
