Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma on Tuesday inaugurated the three-day training programme on cyber security and cashless transactions for police officers working in the CID wing across the State.
The programme would include lectures on types of cyber offences, interpretation of law, tracing cyber offenders through IP addresses, gathering electronic and other evidences and finally reporting it to court.
Addressing the gathering of



police officials, Sharma emphasised on the need to educate public, especially in rural areas, to prevent cyber frauds. “Due to the increase in online payments, the police should acquire necessary skills to investigate, detect, collect and present digital evidence in the Court of Law,” he said.
The DGP also said that cyber crime labs would be set up in all the districts and commissionerates across the state for faster and better investigation.
