DGP CV Anand Calls Spain Worthy World Cup Champions

Telangana Director General of Police CV Anand praised Spain's performance in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, saying Spain thoroughly deserved to lift the title. 

Sharing his views on the match on X, Anand said the final was not as thrilling as many had expected. In his message, he said, "It looked as if only Spain should win as they made 21 attempts to score a goal against Argentina’s 2 , that too in the last few



minutes."

Anand also pointed out that Spain had two goals disallowed by the referee, describing the decisions as marginal. 

He wrote, "For me Spain beat Argentina 3-0, not 1-0 " He further stated that, Argentine captain Lionel Messi was tightly marked throughout the game and was unable to create much of an impact.

He also shared the video of Spain's match-winning goal from several angles on social media.
