The departments of Culture and Tourism, Telangana, in association with the National School of Drama, are conducting a three-day national tribal festival, Aadi Rang Mahotsav, at the Lalitha Kala Thoranam here from March 3.
Tribal artists from 29 States will participate in the festival and exhibit different art forms. Apart from art forms, tribal artefacts, handloom and handicrafts expo and seminars will also be conducted as part of the festival.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Tourism Secretary B Venkatesham said that



such an event was being hosted for the first time in the country. Efforts are on to make Hyderabad the art and cultural capital of India. Plans have been made to organise different art and cultural shows every week in the city, he said.
Ravindra Bharathi and Lalitha Kala Thoranam will be the venues for hosting and promoting cultural shows of different States in the country, he said.Special Advisor to Government Ramana Chary said that in an effort to save and promote tribal art forms, such events have to be organised on a regular note.
