Show cause notices would be issued to the election presiding officers and assistant presiding officers who failed to attend the training sessions conducted on March 17 and 18, said Dana Kishore, Hyderabad District Election Officer.

While about 10,000 employees were appointed as POs and APOs, only 7,000 employees attended the training session. Another opportunity would be given to absentee POs and APOs to attend training session to be held at Harihara Kalabhavan on March 22, he said. Dana Kishore urged the absentee staff to avail the last opportunity. Many employees are coming to GHMC office to claim exemption from election duties, but exemption would not be given at any cost, he clarified. Necessary legal action would be taken against those who failed to participate in election duties under Public Representatives Act, the District Election Officer said.
