Two days after a seven-storeyed illegal apartment collapsed and two workers were killed at Anjaiah Nagar in Gachibowli, the Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation G Srijana on Monday directed the Town Planning and enforcement teams to identify and demolish unauthorised under-construction buildings that fall under specified categories.

In a press statement, the Commissioner directed officials concerned to identify under-construction buildings on plots below 75 sq. yards where construction exceeded 7 metres in height, and buildings



on plots above 75 sq. yards constructed without any building permission, irrespective of the height of construction.

She too directed the teams that all under-construction buildings identified under these categories shall be taken up for demolition through enforcement drives, it said.

Further CMC official also instructed that such cases shall be identified irrespective of the source of detection, whether through citizen complaints or suo motu detection by the concerned field teams, according to the official statement.
