Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Tuesday met with officials of the Legal Metrology Department and representatives of oil corporations to discuss measures to be taken to prevent such irregularities.

The Commissioner asked them to come up with corrective measures and mechanisms to prevent cheating of customers and pilferage of fuel, after which Legal Metrology officials explained to the oil corporations the precautionary measures that could be taken by them. The oil

corporation officials said they had alerted all their outlets across the country on the issue.

Sajjanar suggested that the corporations should have a mechanism for monitoring tampering and mischief in filling stations with the help of vigilance teams. He also suggested in-built cameras and alert systems connected to command and control centres of the corporations for monitoring pilferages on the lines of alert systems used in ATMs.
