C.V. Anand 'Dial 112 to Report Forced Money Demands by Hijras'

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand has urged people to dial 112 and seek police intervention if they face forced or coercive demands for money from groups of hijras. 

The DGP said all police officers across the state have been briefed to respond immediately to such calls and take necessary action. 

The DGP made the remarks while responding to a post on X by a man who thanked the police for their timely intervention after he and others were allegedly forced to



hand over money to a group of hijras.

The man said that with the support of the police, they were able to recover the money and received much-needed relief from the situation. Responding to the post, the DGP urged people facing similar situations to immediately contact the police by dialling 112. 

He also assured that police personnel have been instructed to respond promptly to such complaints and intervene when people are subjected to coercion or harassment over money.
