Villagers of Keruru in Vatpally mandal were startled to find a crocodile walking across the road between Keruru and Kansanpally on Friday night. They immediately alerted forest officials.

Acting on the directions of District Forest Officer Ch Sridhar Rao, a team rushed to the village the same night.

The crocodile, which appeared to have made a nearby lake its habitat, had

ventured out of the waterbody. After efforts lasting a couple of hours, officials safely captured the reptile.

It was later released into the Manjeera river near Singur. Sridhar urged villagers to inform forest personnel if they spot crocodiles or any wild animals near human habitations, assuring swift rescue and release in suitable habitats. Villagers expressed gratitude to the officials for their prompt response.
