Sighting of a crocodile at Polkamma Kunta near Kolkur village has created a flutter among farmers and cattle rearers.

Since the lake is located close to the Manjeera river, crocodiles were straying out of the river quite frequently.

The locals have sighted crocodiles multiple times at Kolkur

in the past.

Fearing an attack, the villagers urged the government to capture the crocodiles and release them in the river. Since cattle, livestock and human beings get into the lake quite frequently, they urged the government to put a permanent system in place to restrict the movement of crocodiles from the Manjeera river.
