Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Wednesday said the services of contract lecturers would be regularised soon as the State Cabinet had already adopted a resolution in this regard. If the regularisation process was delayed, their wages would be hiked, he said, while participating in the inauguration of the statue of Prof Jayashankar at the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) office here.
Srihari said corruption in BIE would be controlled by providing online services. No other government had given as much funds as the present government to junior colleges. In the past two years, about Rs

311 crore had been given, he said. By 2017, all junior colleges would be provided with buildings. The number students in junior colleges had risen by 50,000. Text books were given free of cost, he mentioned.
Srihari said Prof Jayasankar was like a teacher to him and he had devoted his life for the statehood of Telangana. He wanted the BIE officials to work with Telangana movement spirit to provide good education. Telangana Non-Gaztted Employees Association honorary president Devi Prasad requested the Deputy Chief Minister to raise the wages of contract lecturers on the occasion.
