A protest staged by Congress workers at the BJP Warangal district office here on Thursday turned violent as cadres of both parties attacked each other with sticks.
Following a call from the TPCC, Congress workers staged the protest alleging that the BJP government at the Centre was acting with political vendetta by illegally including the names
of top Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald investment case.
Congress workers led by Warangal district Congress president Mohammed Ayub attempted to lay siege to the BJP office by shouting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Police in large numbers were deployed at the office in view of the protest.
