BRS working president KT Rama Rao said on Tuesday that the Congress government was misleading Backward Classes (BCs) by promising a 42 percent reservation.
Reacting sarcastically to the State government’s announcement of a dharna in Delhi to pressure the Centre on BC reservations, Rama Rao said the move lacked credibility because the Chief Minister was failing in even his basic responsibilities.
“How can Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who cannot even perform his routine duties, expect to achieve anything in Delhi?” he asked while addressing a meeting of party workers in Sircilla on Tuesday.
Taking a swipe at what he called the CM’s “false majesty”, Rama Rao said, “Revanth Reddy is talking nonsense. I will stop using abusive language only if he does the same.”
He also questioned the involvement of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar whenever he criticised Revanth Reddy. “Why does Bandi Sanjay jump in if I criticise the CM?” he asked, alleging a deeper political conspiracy.
Rama
Rao accused both Revanth Reddy and Sanjay Kumar of plotting to destroy the BRS in Telangana and divert Godavari River water to Andhra Pradesh.
“This conspiracy is possible only in the absence of K Chandrashekhar Rao. That is why they are working together,” he alleged, urging people not to fall for communal or caste-based ploys again.
“Every election season, Congress distributes cash. Once they come to power, they forget the people,” he said.
He alleged that the Congress government had betrayed the public by failing to implement the six guarantees promised before the elections. “Farmers are not getting Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, bonus or adequate power supply. The government is even struggling to supply urea. It has lost public support within just 20 months,” he said.
He called on party workers to work with full commitment to secure a majority in every booth during the upcoming local polls. “Winning every single seat is essential to silence our critics,” he said, exuding confidence that better days were ahead for the BRS.
