Huzurabad politics witnessed a dramatic turn as several former sarpanches and key leaders from the Congress party resigned and joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of the party’s working president KT Rama Rao and local MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy.
Among those who joined BRS were former Tanugula sarpanch Ramaswamy, former Shambhunipalli sarpanch Venkat Reddy, former Papakkapalli sarpanch Mahender, former Shayampet sarpanch Bhadraiah, former Nagampet sarpanch Krishna Reddy,
Rachapalli Sadanandam, Jaida Srinivas and others.
The leaders said they were disillusioned with Congress, citing unfulfilled promises and lack of respect for grassroots workers. They declared that Telangana’s real progress was achieved under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership and stressed that only under his rule could the State prosper further. “We realised there is no political future in Congress. BRS is the only party fighting for Telangana‘s development,” they said.
