Congress govt plans state-wide reorganisation of mandals and districts

Amid concerns and apprehensions over the adverse impact of the expansion of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, the Congress government is now working on the reorganisation of mandals and districts in the State.

Sharing these plans during Question Hour in the Assembly on Tuesday, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured that mandals, revenue divisions and districts that were reorganised during the



previous government’s tenure would be re-examined.

He said there was a need for new mandals and revenue divisions in the State and the issue would be discussed in the Cabinet. A statewide reorganisation of districts would also be taken up.

“A special report will be sought from officials on the exercise. The reorganisation will be carried out with the approval of all sections,” Srinivas Reddy assured.
