Former Minister T Harish Rao has alleged that the Congress government failed to develop any electricity infrastructure even after borrowing huge amounts of funds.

Elaborating on the effort of BRS during their 10 years of rule, he said that BRS had increased 400 kV substations from 6 to 30, apart from increasing the 220 kV sub stations from 51 to 103.

The former minister said that the 132 kV sub-stations were increased from 176 to 251 besides establishing more than 1,100 33/11 kV sub-stations. Rao said that they sanctioned more than 4.60 lakh new distribution transformers during their rule in addition to

existing 4 lakh transformers.

Rao said that they installed 8,000 new extra high tension lines. Showing an old video of Revanth, in which he exposed the Congress government failures in supplying power when Revanth was in TDP, Harish Rao said BRS had changed the face of power supply by spending over one lakh crore on electricity supply in a decade.

However, he said the Congress government under the leadership of Revanth did nothing in creating any new infrastructure even after borrowing huge amounts of loans. The former minister recalled that BRS was established to fight against the hike in power tariffs in 2001.
