People in Hyderabad and districts, who have been braving a cold wave all through December, should prepare for the biting chill to persist well into the coming week.
On Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)- Hyderabad issued a cold wave alert for multiple districts of Telangana till next Wednesday, December 24. Furthermore, the Weather Department in its long-term 5-day forecast has also indicated that this trend is likely to continue till Thursday, December 25.
“Cold wave conditions are very likely to prevail over Telangana. Minimum temperatures are likely to be 3°C to 4°C below normal,” IMD-Hyderabad said.
The districts where minimum temperatures are expected to remain
between 5 degree Celsius and 10 degree are Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts. The remaining districts, according to IMD-Hyderabad, in the State will experience minimum temperatures from 11 to 15 degree C.
Meanwhile, multiple locations in Hyderabad and districts witnessed single-digit minimum temperatures in the early hours of Sunday and Saturday night. In core regions of Hyderabad, the areas that recorded lowest temperatures (in degree celsius) were Serilingampally, Hyderabad Central University (8.3), Rajendranagar (9), Moula Ali (9.1), Alwal (10.3), Gachibowli (10.4), Qutbullapur (10.8), Gajularamaram (10.8), Trimulgherry and West Marredpally (11.3).
