Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will preside over the first ever awareness meeting on Telangana Dalit Bandhu scheme to be held at Pragathi Bhavan on July 26. The meeting will discuss on the action plan including measures to be taken for the implementation, monitoring, management and success of the scheme, which will be launched as a pilot project in Huzurabad constituency.

The meeting will be attended by a total of 412 Dalit men and women with four persons (two men and two women) from each village and four persons (two men and two women) from each ward in each municipality – all from Huzurabad constituency. They will be accompanied by 15 resource persons.

The participants from all the villages in Huzurabad constituency will reach their respective mandal headquarters by 7 am on July 26. After breakfast, they will be transported to the Huzurabad constituency headquarters in buses arranged by the State government. After paying tributes to the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Huzurabad, they will reach Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderabad to attend the meeting scheduled to commence



at 11 am.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister will explain the main objective of the Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme, its implementation, monitoring and management as well as the essentials measures to be taken for succesfull implementation of the scheme.

Later, he will participate in an interactive session to explain how the Dalit Bandhu scheme will contribute for a qualitative change in the lives of all Dalits in the State. The role of the beneficiaries in the historic scheme to be launched as a pilot project in Huzurabad constituency, the government’s efforts to uplift the socio-economic condition of the Dalits through the scheme and create awareness on the scheme among the Dalits, also will be discussed.

The meeting will also deliberate on how to create awareness among beneficiaries on improving their lives on their own utilising the scheme, as well as coordination with the officials, among others. The meeting will be held till evening, following which the participants will return to their villages.
