Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responded to a tweet regarding a maize crop that was burnt due to the alleged negligence of NPDCL officials in Pembi mandal headquarters on Thursday.

Revanth Reddy instructed officials to conduct an inquiry into the incident and provide compensation to the maize farmers. He replied to a message posted on micro-blogging site X by BRS leader Bhukya Johnson Naik from Khanapur.

Accordingly, Collector Bhavesh Mishra initiated steps to ascertain

the cause of the crop damage and release immediate relief for the farmers.

In his post, Johnson narrated the plight of farmers following the burning of the crop, which had reached the harvesting stage in five acres, allegedly due to a short-circuit in Pembi mandal centre recently.

He pointed out that the crop damage was caused by the negligence of NPDCL officials. He requested the Chief Minister to take steps to conduct an inquiry into the mishap and implement preventive measures.
