Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to develop Indiramma housing colonies within residential areas in the Core Urban Region (CURE) zone, stressing that housing for the poor must be located close to workplaces to safeguard livelihoods.
Reviewing the implementation of the Indiramma Urban Housing scheme, the Chief Minister asked authorities to identify unused lands belonging to various government departments within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits.
Officials informed the CM about
housing sites identified across multiple Assembly constituencies. The meeting decided to utilise lands owned by the Police, Revenue and Transport departments for the project, with alternative land parcels to be allotted to these departments elsewhere.
Revanth Reddy noted that houses constructed in far-off locations often remain unoccupied due to lack of employment opportunities. He emphasised that future housing should be developed within existing residential zones to ensure beneficiaries do not lose access to livelihoods.
