Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday said the younger generation must adapt to changing global trends by acquiring new skills and exploring alternative employment opportunities, particularly in blue-collar sectors, amid growing concerns over the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on white-collar jobs.
Participating in The Hindu Huddle 2026 organised by The Hindu in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister said AI-driven technological advancements were transforming the employment landscape and that youth should equip
themselves with industry-relevant skills to remain competitive
"Many are worried that AI will eliminate white-collar jobs. The alternative lies in blue-collar employment. Young people must focus on acquiring the necessary skills to seize emerging opportunities," he said.
Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana government's efforts to strengthen skill development through initiatives such as the Young India Skills University and the modernisation of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs).
