CM KCR visits Chinna Jeeyar Ashram

Ahead of the unveiling of the Statue of Equality of Sri Ramanujacharya at Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy Ashram in Muchintal, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited the Ashram and inspected the arrangements being made for the celebrations marking the 1000th birth anniversary of the religious philosopher Sri Ramanujacharya. He directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to extend necessary support on behalf of the State government for the event which will be conducted from February 2 to 14.

During his visit, the Chief Minister had a meeting with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy at the Ashram and discussed the arrangements being made for the celebrations to be held next month. They visited the Yagashala set up at the Ashram and also discussed the arrangements for Sahasra Kundathmaka Sri Lakshmi Narayana Yagam to be performed with 1,035 homagundams. On the occasion, Chandrashekhar Rao inspected the statue of Sri Ramanujacharya.

The Chief Minister called SPDCL chairman and managing director Raghuma Reddy over phone and instructed him to



ensure uninterrupted power supply to the Ashram during the Yagam. The officials were asked to provide Mission Bhagiratha water connection for the purpose. He wanted the officials of all the departments to act in coordination in making necessary arrangements for the Yagam. While the Fire department officials were ordered to station fire engines at the Yagashala, the officials were instructed to improve road connectivity, as several VIPs are expected to attend the event.

They also discussed the arrangements for the reopening of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri. While the Maha Sudharshana Yagam will be held from March 21, the Maha Kumbha Samprokshana will be performed on March 28.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was welcomed with Poorna Kumbham amid chanting of vedic hymns at the Ashram. He was accompanied by Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar and others.
