CM KCR sanctions Rs.10.25 cr to Wanaparthy

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao sanctioned Rs 10.25 crore from Special Development Fund (SDF) for various development works in the Wanaparthy district. While Rs 5 crore will be spent for constructing town hall in Wanaparthy district headquarters, the remaining will be utilised for the construction of multi-purpose buildings for all communities in seven mandal headquarters costing Rs 75 lakh each.

In a statement, Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning funds for a unique attempt to construct the multi-purpose buildings to bring together all communities. He said the district was being developed in a planned manner by sanctioning funds in an unprecedented manner, to make it a role model for



others to emulate.

The Minister reminded that Rs 76.19 crore was sanctioned recently for the construction of the Karne Thanda Lift Scheme, in addition to providing irrigation water to about one lakh acres through the construction of nearly 60 lift schemes developed over the last six years. 

He also stated that classes for the government medical college and nursing colleges allocated to the district will commence from the next academic year. Other development works including the first fisheries college at Pebbari, construction of groundnut research centre, foundation for sheep reproduction centre and other works, were kept on fast track.
