MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was committed to the construction of a temple, mosque and church at the new Secretariat complex here.

Responding to questions raised by members in the State Assembly, he said the date would be finalised after consultation for a proper ‘muharat’ so that the construction of three religious structures could commence the same day.

To another request from MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on expansion of Sri Simhavahini

Mahankali temple in Lal Darwaza in old city, Rama Rao said the State government had already released Rs 10 crore for the construction work. Five properties were also identified to pave way for construction work. Of the five properties, the owner of one property agreed to give land while the remaining four were yet to oblige.

“I request Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav and you to hold discussions with the owners and ensure that the work gets started at the earliest,” he said.
