As part of the preparations for the 8th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2026, to be hosted by Telangana, a team of officials from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) visited key sports facilities in Hyderabad on Tuesday to assess their readiness for the prestigious national event.
The SAI delegation, led by Executive Director Amar Jyoti, along with Assistant Directors Madhu Harsha, Gopal Kandpal and Mohit, inspected the GMC Balayogi Sports Complex, Shooting
Range, KBR Indoor Stadium, Hussain Sagar Water Sports Training Centre, Cycling Velodrome and the Lal Bahadur Stadium.
The officials reviewed the existing sports infrastructure, venue readiness, and the facilities available for athletes, technical officials and spectators. The SAI team expressed satisfaction about the quality of sports infrastructure available in Hyderabad. They, however, suggested that minor repair and maintenance works be undertaken at a few locations.
