In Telangana, people of flood-hit areas of Hyderabad have poured out their woes to the Central Team. The inter-ministerial team is visiting the State to assess the damages caused due to the recent rains and floods. 

The 3 member split team led by Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry, Praveen Vashista visited several inundated colonies, inspected houses, roads, bridges and tanks damaged in the floods and also examined the restoration works taken up last evening. Another 2 member split team visited Siddipet district to assess the agriculture and other damage caused by rains.
 
The central team visited several flood affected areas in Hyderabad and examined the ongoing restoration works and interacted with local people to assess the extent of damage caused due to the recent heavy rains and worst floods. Three member split team led by Praveen Vasishta visited Chadrayangutta, Balanagar and other areas last evening. They examined the damaged road-over-bridge in Chandrayangutta-Falaknuma area and the nearby inundated localities. The members interacted with



flood-affected people to have first-hand information on the impact of flood and examined delisting of nala works. 

People explained how the flood water reached up to the first floor of their houses after submerging the ground floor completely and showed the damaged walls due to soaking in flood water for a long time. The dark water with foul smell and dirt was still around even after 10 days of flooding.
 
The team also examined the breach to Palle Cheruvu (Lake) and Appa Cheruvu and how the flood water damaged the retaining walls of 7 meter wide nala which caused heavy flooding and inundation. 

Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi explained the team how people were affected when flood water flowed up to 10 feet height in the area of Chandrayanagutta. People in Balapur and Hafeezbaba Nagar area explained how their household things completely damaged and how silt covered their houses after breaching the lake. The two member team visited Siddipet to assess crop damages. The Central team will continue their visit today.
